The courses of studies for various classes are prepared by the CHSE/Sambalpur University for each session. Any changes in the syllabus are communicated by the CHSE / University at the beginning of the session.

HIGHER SECONDARY WING

+2 Arts – 224 seats

Compulsory Subjects – English, M.I.L. (Odia/Hindi/Sanskrit/Alternative English), Environmental Education, Basic computer education, Yoga.

Electives – Any Four Electives selecting maximum one subject from each of the following. Infringement of this in any manner is subject to rejection of the form.

  5. Education/Psychology /Anthropology
  6. Odia/ Sanskrit/Hindi / Information Technology.

+2 Science – 160 Seats

Accounting

Fundamentals of entrepreneurship and cost accounting(F.E.C)

Business studies and management(B.S.M)

Vocational Course: 24 Seats

DEGREE WING

+3 Arts: – 128 seats

Compulsory Course:

(1) English, Paper I and II – 200 marks

(2) M.I.L (O/H/AE), Paper I and II – 200 marks

(3) Indian Society and Culture – 100 marks

(4) Environmental Study – 100 marks

(a) Elective Subjects:-

A Student shall choose two of the following elective subjects:-

Indian Polity
Landmarks in Indian History
Education
Odia

Note- Students taking Political Science, History, Education & Odia as one of their Pass or Honours subject are not allowed to take Indian Polity, Land marks in Indian History, Education & Odia as elective papers respectively.

(b)  Optional Subjects

A Pass student shall have to choose one subject from Pass Subjects and an Hons. students shall have to choose one Hons. subject.

Pass Subject – Education / History / Political Science/ Odia

Honours Subject – English, Odia, Anthropology, Economics, History, Geography, Home Science,    Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit.

+3 Science: 64 seats

Compulsory Course

English – 50 marks

M.I.L. (Hindi/Odia/Alt. Eng) – 50 marks

IT – 100 marks

Environmental Studies – 100 marks

Elective Subjects

Minor Elective: (100 Marks)

Students having Botany or Zoology as Pass or Hons. Subject shall take “mathematics and statistics” as their minor elective paper. Other   Science Students (of Physical Science) shall take “biology” as their minor elective paper.

Major Elective: (200 Marks)

A Science student shall choose any one subject from the following subjects as the major elective subject.

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

Note: A student having subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, as Honours or Pass Subject shall not be allowed to offer corresponding subject as a major elective subject.

 

       Optional Subjects

A Pass student shall have to choose two subjects from Pass Subjects and and Hons. Students shall have to choose one Pass and one Hons. Subject.

Pass Subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Food Science and Quality Control (FSQC).

Honours Subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology (Provided she had opted that subject as Optional in +2 Science)

POST GRADUATE WING

POST GRADUATE WING (P.G. Course – Odia – 16 seats)

Graduates having Odia  Hons. can apply in prescribed application form available in the office within 15 days from the date of publication of the result of Sambalpur University.
